KL8's easier-to-use build of FilmCraft, the open-source Premiere-style video editor — edit, colour and sound on Windows.
Professional video editing on Windows usually means an expensive subscription. FilmCraft — the ArtCraft team's open-source, pure-Rust take on the Premiere workflow — is powerful, but we wanted it simpler for everyday creators to pick up and use.
KL8 Tech Group modified FilmCraft to make it easier to use and packaged it as a one-click Windows installer. Underneath it's the same engine: its own decoding, compositing and grading, Lumetri-style colour, audio mixing with loudness meters, titles, captions and keyframed effects.
Download the Windows installer (.msi), run it, and start cutting. No subscription, no account. Based on FilmCraft by the ArtCraft team, licensed MIT OR Apache-2.0.
FilmCraft 0.4.0 for Windows 10/11 (64-bit), about 27 MB. Windows may show SmartScreen (“Unknown publisher”) if the installer is not code-signed — click More info, then Run anyway. KL8 build based on FilmCraft by the ArtCraft team, open source under MIT OR Apache-2.0 — licences at kl8tech.group/downloads/filmcraft/LICENSE-MIT.txt, LICENSE-APACHE.txt and NOTICE.txt.
