Kl8iso Privacy Policy

This policy applies to Kl8iso, a Windows desktop application published by KL8 Tech Group (“KL8”, “we”, “us”) at kl8tech.group. It supplements our general website privacy policy where relevant.

1. Summary

Kl8iso is designed to work on your PC. Ripping, converting, and burning discs happens locally. We do not operate a cloud service that receives your movies, VOB files, or MKV outputs as part of normal app use.

2. Information the app processes locally

DVD and file contents you choose to read, extract, convert, or burn
Paths and settings you select (output folders, format choices)
Optional encode-queue metadata stored on your device
Windows drive and disc identifiers needed to access optical media

This data stays on your computer unless you copy files elsewhere yourself (USB, cloud sync, email, etc.).

3. Information we do not collect through the app

By default, Kl8iso does not:

Upload your video or audio to KL8 servers
Record keystrokes or screen content
Require an account or login to use core features
Embed third-party advertising trackers in the application

4. Network use

The app may access the internet only when you or the installer explicitly do so, for example:

Opening our website, privacy, or terms links from the About screen
Downloading optional components (e.g. libdvdcss beside ffmpeg) if that feature is enabled
Installing or checking for .NET 8 Desktop Runtime during setup
Checking for updates if you use a link we provide to kl8tech.group

Visiting kl8tech.group in a browser is subject to our website analytics and cookies as described in the main privacy policy.

5. Third-party software

Kl8iso relies on tools you install separately (notably FFmpeg) and Windows components. Those programs are governed by their own licenses and policies. Configure them according to your own security requirements.

6. Children

Kl8iso is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children through the app.

7. Security

Because processing is local, you control physical access to your PC and discs. Use disk encryption and user accounts as appropriate for your environment.

8. Australian privacy law

Where the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) applies to KL8 Tech Group's handling of personal information outside the app (e.g. if you email us for support), we follow the Australian Privacy Principles. App-related enquiries that include personal information are handled under this policy and our main privacy policy.

9. Changes

We may update this policy by posting a new version at this URL. Material changes will be reflected in the “Last updated” date.
