A desktop media capture utility for streamers and content creators.
Content creators on the Central Coast needed a lightweight, low-latency screen capture tool that wouldn't hog system resources during live streams — existing solutions were too heavy or too limited.
Streamshot was built as an Electron desktop application using FFmpeg under the hood for capture and encoding. A React interface provides scene management, custom overlays, and one-click recording controls. The app handles GPU-accelerated encoding for minimal CPU impact.
Streamshot achieved sub-50ms capture latency on mid-range hardware and reduced CPU usage by 40% compared to alternatives, enabling seamless dual-use for gaming and streaming simultaneously.
