A purpose-built Android kiosk app for Home Assistant — with ESP Bluetooth proxy, presence sensing, and an always-on wall panel interface.

The Challenge

Running Home Assistant on a wall-mounted Android tablet required more than just a browser — we needed deep integration with device hardware, passive presence detection, and Bluetooth proxying for nearby ESPHome devices.

Our Solution

KL8 Wall is a native Android kiosk app purpose-built for Home Assistant wall panels. It embeds an ESP Bluetooth proxy to extend your ESPHome mesh, uses the device camera or sensors for presence sensing, and locks the device into a clean always-on dashboard mode. Distributed as a direct APK for full control over installation.

The Result

Installed on wall-mounted tablets around the home, KL8 Wall turns any Android device into a fully integrated Home Assistant panel — handling Bluetooth proxying and presence detection without any additional hardware.
